FASTER CONTAINER SHIP HEADING TO PORTLAND
SPM Container Lines plans a bigger, faster ship to improve weekly container service for Hapag-Lloyd and other carriers between Boston; Portland; and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Containers of New England products taken to Halifax are transferred to ships bound for Asia, Europe, and Australia.

For Maine exporters, the new ship will ensure that cargo reaches Halifax in time to be shipped out again Thursday to markets around the world.
